A deciduous shrub reaching 1–1.5 m (3.3–4.9 ft), it bears compound, alternate, toothed leaflets which have been compared to ferns or sumac.The flowers, appearing in July and August, are white and showy, clustered at the end of the branches.Sorbaria sorbifolia is pleasant to light, also resistant to shade and cold. It can withstand the low temperature of minus 25 ℃ in winter. It has no strict requirements on soil. It grows best in fertile sandy loam and is also more resistant to saline alkali soil.
